Calvin "Sonny" Center, 66, of Winslow, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 1994, at Washington Regional Medical Center.

Born June 22, 1927, at Winslow, the son of Alvis and Sally Jones Center, he was an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines of Tulsa, Okla., before retiring in 1983, after more than 33 years of service. Upon retirement, he moved to Winslow and built his home on the family homestead. Until his illness he was active in the First Baptist Church of Winslow.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Jean Meadows Center, of the home; two daughters, Glenda Howell of Springdale and Sandra Davis of Winslow; three sons, Michael Kindle of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Steven Kindle of Pope Air Force Base, Linden, N.C., and Daniel Kindle of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Christine Jones of Tulsa, Okla., and Ruth Nicholas of Van Buren, and three brothers, Bobby Joe Center of Winslow, James Center of Van Buren and Jerry Center of Alma, and 15 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Winslow with the Revs. David Rouse and Fred Blake officiating. Burial will be in Brentwood Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Memorials may be made to Winslow First Baptist Church, Van Ministry, P.O. Box 200, Winslow, 72959.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Monday and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday.
