FAYETTEVILLE - JoAnne Lierly Porter, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, at her home. She was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Fayetteville, a daughter of Raymond Leonard and Louise Ada Williams Lierly.

She married Darrel Porter on April 23, 1957, at the home of her grandfather Rev. O.L. Lierly. Joanne served honorably as a military wife for 17 years with her husband during the Vietnam Era.

After retiring, she loved being with her husband and two sons restoring antique cars and going to car shows and attending car club meetings. She also took piano lessons and became a very good piano player. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

JoAnne is survived by her husband of 63 years, Darrel Porter; sons Steven Porter of Fayetteville and Danny Porter and wife Janet of Prairie Grove; grandchildren Chris of Prairie Grove and Susan of Fayetteville; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Louise Lierly; brothers Ray, Jim and David Lierly; and sisters Doris and Becky Lierly.

No services are scheduled. Cremation arrangements by Beard's Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be in Brentwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Condolences at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.
