SPRINGDALE — William Anderson Porter, 92, of Springdale passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, in Springdale. He was born April 29, 1924, in Judsonia, Ark., to Robert and Nellie M. Porter.

He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Force as a navigator on a B-24 Liberator. He flew 22 combat missions against strategic targets in Germany. He then worked for more than 40 years for the Ford Motor Company before retiring back to Springdale. He was active in the community and had a great love of animals.

He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Porter, his sister Mary McGetrick and his parents.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Porter of 68 years of the home; two daughters, Janet Powers of Springdale and Debi LaVoie and husband Paul of Lantana, Texas; six grandchildren, Dustin Clark, Christopher Clark, Kim Porter, Austin Porter, Daedre Malone and Alisha LaVoie; seven great-grandchildren, Mia Clark, Cooper Clark, Piper Malone, Enden Malone, Dayla Hansen, Mackenly Rourk and Kendrick Smith.

Graveside memorial services will be Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 1 pm at Bluff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springdale Animal Shelter, 321 W. Randall Wobbe Lane, Springdale, Ark., 72764.

SPRINGDALE — Barbara Lou Porter, 87, of Springdale, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018. She was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Avoca to Pierce and Jewel Bailey Gramling. Barbara worked in the office at Springdale Family Clinic for many, many years. She had great compassion for people and animals and was devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William "Bill" Porter, and a son, Terry Porter. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Powers of Springdale, Debi LaVoie and husband Paul of Highland Village, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Sherri Porter of Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Dustin Clark and wife Cynthia, Christopher Clark, Kim Porter Smith, Austin Porter and wife Maheen, Daedre Malone and husband William, Alisha LaVoie; and seven great-grandchildren, Mia Clark, Cooper Clark, Piper Malone, Enden Malone, Dayla Hansen, Mackenly Rourk, and Kendrick Smith.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be at Bluff Cemetery.
