Funeral services for PFC Harvey Lee Williams, who was killed in action in Cam Le Quany Tro Province, Republic of Vietnam, Wednesday, Sept. 17, will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church. His body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. His body is being escorted by PFC Jimmy Williams, who was also serving in Vietnam. PFC Williams was the son of Mrs. Rosie L. Vaughan and Exill Williams. He entered the Marine Corps on Aug. 14, 1968. He had served three weeks in Vietnam. He was a 1967 graduate of Union Grove High School. He was an active member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church where he served as junior deacon, president of the youth department, assistant superintendant of the Sunday School and was a member of the male chorus. He also served as secretary of the Bradley District Section No. II. Besides his parents he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Melva Moore of Camden, Mrs. Mary Griffith and Miss Carolyn Williams of Eagle Mills; ten brothers, James, Otis, and Sylvester of the home; James, Charles, Jimmie, Harold sand Leroy Williams all of Eagle Mills, Eld. John T. Williams of Le Moore, Calif. and Bennie Williams of Little Rock. Burial will be in Shady Grove cemetery by Williams Funeral Service. (Camden News - October 2, 1969)
