JAMES TURNER OF HIWASSE BURIED FRIDAY
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Harry L. Barr, of Bentonville, were held at the Hiwasse Christian Church last Friday afternoon for James M. Turner, who died the day before at the home of his son, J. W. Turner, of Gravette. He was 77 years of age. Burial was made in the Daniels cemetery.
Mr. Turner was born in Shelby County, Ills. Jan. 5, 1857. His parents moved to Benton County when he was a child and for nearly 70 years, he had resided in the Hiwasse Community.
He Married Miss Rachel Dickson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Daniel Dickson, members of two pioneer families. Mrs. Turner passed away a few years ago.
He is survived by four sons; J.W. and Joe Turner of the Hiwasse community: Charles Turner of Pittsburg, Kans, also by two brothers, Ed Turner of the Vaughn community and Everett Turner of Spokane, Washington.
