Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Fayetteville, Arkansas
James Charles Murphy, 65, of Fayetteville, AR passed away July 8, 2020 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born July 27, 1954, the son of James E. Murphy and Rovena Bittick Murphy of Fayetteville.
James is survived by his parents; one son, James Jess (JJ) Murphy of Fayetteville; one brother, Edward Lee Murphy of Fayetteville; two sisters, Fay Jenkins and her husband, Danny of Cane Hill, AR and Jamie Hulsey of Fayetteville; and seven nieces and nephews.
James loved the game of football which he played in junior and senior high. He graduated in 1973 from Farmington High School. In his later years, he attended the University of Arkansas and graduated with a degree in food science.
He also loved the outdoors. James loved to fish and hunt…and fish and fish and fish! Every year he would drive to the Colorado Mountains to pan for gold (P.S.-the gold is still in Colorado!).
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Beard’s Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2020 at Mt. Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.
