VAN BUREN — Barbara L. Perkins, 79, of Van Buren died Nov. 24, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Wheeler to Fred and Blanche Curry Newport. She was a former resident of Fayetteville. She was retired from Sears and was a member of Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Perkins of the home; one daughter, Janet Jackson of Fort Smith; one brother, Curry Newport of Three Rivers, Texas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville, online at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com. The Rev. Susan Ledbetter will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery.
