John Burl Wooten, 56, Sulpher Springs, died July 15 at his home. Born April 2, 1920, in Boonefield community of Benton County, the son of Todd and Clara Sykes Wooten, he was a farmer and WWII veteran.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Mavis Cochran, Hiwasse, Melva Wooten, Gentry, Mrs. Janice Beaty, Southwest City, MO., Marilyn, Jonnetta and Karen Wooten, Maysville; six sons, Harl Wooten, Southwest City, Mo., J.B. and Kevin Wooten, Colcord, Okla., Sherrell Wooten, Gentry, Calvin and Roger Wooten, Maysville; two brothers, Bill Wooten, Gentry, and Warren Wooten, Westminister; five sisters, Mrs. Fay Miller, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Irene Fry, Springfieid, Mo., Mrs. Edith Thompson, Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Nichols, Sutherlin, Ore. and Mrs. Nora Taylor, Sulpher Springs; seven grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wasson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Johnny McCombs officiating. Burial was in the Bozark Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Chapel of Siloam Springs.
