WOOTEN, Napoleon Bonaparte - N.B. Wooten, a resident of Benton county for nearly 50 years, died at his home in Burgin Valley, eight miles west of Decatur, Wednesday morning, Oct. 25, 1925 following a short illness. He was 80 years of age. His widow and one son, John Wooten, survive. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. F.A. Bradshaw Thursday afternoon at the Barron cemetery where he was buried. The Masons of Centerton and Vaughn had charge of the funeral. Napoleon Bonaparte Wooten was born in Tennessee in 1845. The Civil War broke out when he was about fifteen years old. He joined Wheeler's famous cavalry in the Confederate army and was in active service until the close of the war. His parents then moved to Illinois; from there to Missouri, after which they came to Benton county where they located near Osage Mills. In 1892, when 47 years old, he married Miss Maggie Osborn. The wedding took place in Bentonville. About 40 years ago he moved to Burgin Valley which has since been his home, During Pierce Galbreaith's term as sheriff of Benton county, he served as his deputy for four years. His life will long be remembered as that of a model citizen and one who was always ready to stand for the right in any cause.
