Chester Cooper Huffman, 79, of the Huffman Community, died Monday, December 19, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN.
He was born in Huffman, AR, to Murvin Huffman and Annie Hicks Huffman. He was the retired owner/operator of the Huffman Grocery and Gas Station and also retired from Littrell Ford Motor Company after 25 years as an auto mechanic.
Mr. Huffman proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and enjoyed riding around in the hills and seeking out yard sales and auctions. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who was extremely proud of his family. He had a simplistic approach to life, and that was to love his family and friends and always do the best he could for othres.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ihs wife, Betty Jane Metheny Huffman; a brother, Charles Murvin Huffman; and sisters, Edna Lee Askins, Reba Fern Lucy and Martha Ann Huffman.
He is survived by his children, Craig Huffman of Armorel, Teresa England and Ronnie Huffman, both of the Huffman Community; a brother, Owen Huffman of Malden, MO.; a sister, Sandra Collins of Blytheville; grandchildren, Brittany and Chris Hill of Manila, Matthew Huffman of Dell, Nick Huffman of Armorel, Angel Huffman of Armorel, Chad and Erica Huffman of Blytheville, Michael and Codie Huffman of Armorel and Annie Huffman of Huffman; and great-grandchildren, Brice Hill, Grace Elizabeth Hill of Manila and Layla Huffman of Dell.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Lawrence Gibbons officiating. Cobb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Blytheville, AR - Betty Jane Huffman, 65, retired owner of Huffman's Grocery, died Friday at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Elmwood Cemetery. Cobb Funeral Home has charge.
Mrs. Huffman, the wife of Chester Huffman, also leaves a daughter, Teresa England, two sons, Craig Huffman and Ronnie Huffman, and a sister, Barbara Fannin, all of Blytheville; three brothers, Clayton Metheny of Blytheville, Lewis Metheny of Dallas and Jack Metheny of Michigan City, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.
