Jake Huffman, prominent planter and lumberman, died this morning at Walls Hospital where he had been a patient since he was stricken Saturday with a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 64.

Funeral services will be conducted from the family residence at 901 Chickasawba tomorrow morning at 9:30 by the Rev. E. C. Brown, pastor of the First Baptist Church.

Born December 25, 1881, at Cottonwood Point, Missouri, where his parents were pioneer citizens, he was a long time resident of Blytheville, residing at 901 Chickasawba.

They also had extensive farming interests in Arkansas and Missouri. They also established retail lumber-yards at Portageville and Steele, Missouri.

Mr. Huffman was a leader in the First Baptist Church, serving for several years as church treasurer. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Deacon Board and a church trustee.
