When Jennie Burton Stewart was born on September 16, 1924, in Searcy, Arkansas, her father, Charles, was 35, and her mother, Nora, was 28. She had four brothers and two sisters. She died on June 16, 1996, at the age of 71, and was buried in West Point, Arkansas.
