October 27, 1920 - March 7, 2009
Earl G. Smith, 88, of Little Rock, formerly of Guy, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009.
He was born October 27, 1920, in Monroe Oklahoma to the late William G. and Lena Kendall Smith.
Mr. Smith was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the Philippines, France and Guam.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William F. Smith and Eli Smith and by a sister, Ermadean Rowlett.
He is survived by a brother, James Smith of Hensley, Arkansas; and a sister, Mary Zeman of Cabot.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Cemetery in Greenbrier, Bro. Larry Grubbs officiating.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

When Earl Gilbert "Uncle Pete" Smith was born on October 27, 1920, in Oklahoma, his father, William, was 36 and his mother, Mary, was 33. He had four brothers and seven sisters. He died on March 7, 2009, in Faulkner, Arkansas, at the age of 88, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas. His siter Mary said he never married he had a girlfriend that broke up with him when he went off to War and he never got over her and never even dated anyone. He lived with his sister Dean Rollett for many years till her death and he moved into a VA retirement center. Hunter Underwood was born on his Birthday. Hunter is the grandson of his nephew Steven Underwood. Uncle Pete was a very nice gentle man who fully never got over the War issues he faced.
