His married Addie Belle Fletcher on August 7, 1946, in Yellville, Arkansas.
He was the son of Fielden Hurst Cox & Tillie Jane Fowler Cox.
His parents named him Henry Cox. When he entered the military, he was informed that he had to have two names other than the surname, and he was assigned the name William. Everyone knew him as Henry, and few probably knew that his William first name had been given to him as a young adult by the US Army.

William Henry Cox, 68, of Mt. Home died Saturday (Feb 23, 1991) at his residence.
Services will be at 2PM Thursday at the Kirby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard James officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM today at the Kirby Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Heiskill Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was born on Dec 20, 1922, at Mt. Home and was a lifetime Mt. Home resident. He was a truck driver for the Arkansas State Highway Department and Married Addie Belle Fletcher on Aug 7, 1946, at Yellville.
He is survived by his wife, Addie Belle Cox of Mt. Home; one son, Lowell Cox of Mt. Home, stationed in the military service in Saudi Arabia; three granddaughters; one great granddaughter; two sisters, Marie Conley Ragland of Mt. Home and Norma Jean Stover of LaMarque, Texas; one brother, F.H. Cox of Pique, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fielden Hurst Cox and Tillie Jane Fowler Cox; one son, Randy Doyle; and four brothers.
Pallbearers are Virgil Perry, Allen Walton, Wayne Fletcher, Billy Hensley, T.H. Conley and Winford Conley.
Honorary pallbearers are the employees of the Arkansas Highway Department in Marion County.
Memorials may be made to the Heiskill Cemetery c/o Worthen Bank of Mt. Home.
