Alva Ray Scott, 60, of Louann died Thursday in a Smackover hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Feb., 1, 1905, in Smackover, he was the son of Will and Norah Lawrence Scott. He was an oil field worker and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Florence Edna Scott, of Louann; a daughter, Mrs. J. T. Church of Smackover; a half brother, Leonard Scott of Louann; Six sisters, Mrs. H. C. Smith of Sheridan, Mrs. J. M. Cobb of Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. Bessie Paterson of Jonesville, Tex., Mrs. James Cox of Longview, Tex., Mrs. Dean Lee of Manning and Mrs. Eda Hilberts of Tennessee; and a step sister, Mrs. Blanch Patterson of Louann. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Young's. (The El Dorado Times - October 7, 1965)
