FARMINGTON — Jewel Athalene Cheatham, 86, a resident of Farmington, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Oct. 15, 2011, in Farmington. She was born March 27, 1925, at Gatesville, Texas, the daughter of Henry and Parelee Webb Clark.
She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills, Ark. She loved to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Through the years, she was active in Nursing Home Ministry, Children's Choir, Sunday School, WMU and Vacation Bible School. She led music for Sunday Warship for many years and was a faithful visitor to the homebound. She enjoyed the fellowship of her Hobby Club until her health prevented it.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, J.F. Cheatham; three children, Johnny Cheatham and wife, Anna, of Lincoln, Joy Batson and husband, Dale, of Fayetteville, and Jody Cheatham and wife, Darlene, of Cane Hill; one sister, Jean Baize of Friona, Texas; five grandchildren, Dean Cheatham, Karen Lipford, Lisa Rawls, Brad Cheatham, Tara Abshler; nine great-grandchildren, Garret Lipford, Caleb Lipford, Allee Lipford, Alex Abshier, Eli Abshier, Reagan Rawls, Derek Cheatham, Hudson Cheatham and Kate Cheatham.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at the Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills, Ark., with Jimmy Mauldin officiating. Burial will be in Dutch Mills Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 641, Prairie Grove, AR, 72753.
Pallbearers will be Harry Swain, Roger Eversoll, Patrick Absbier, Caleb Rawls, Keith Lipford, Dean Cheatham and Brad Cheatham.
