Lonnie Lewis Nichols, 84, of Ozark died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, in Fort Smith. He was born April 16, 1923, in Franklin County. He was self-employed, and a member of Centerpoint Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Centerpoint Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Rankin Cemetery in Ozark.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; two daughters, Elaine Bright of Alma and Becky Hatchett of Lamar; four sons, James and Michael Nichols, both of Ozark, Danny Nichols of Mulberry, and Mark Nichols of Alma; a sister, Gladys Brown of Forrest Hill, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Betty Jo Nichols, 85, of Ozark, Arkansas, died, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, a member of Center Point Freewill Baptist Church and Center Point Quilting Group. She was born November 4, 1928 in White Rock Community, Franklin County Arkansas to James Luke and Ozella Huggins Battles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Lewis Nichols and a daughter, Linda Kay Nichols
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home with Brother Hubert Staggs and Brother Chester Smith officiating with burial at Rankin Cemetery in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Bright and husband Chris of Alma, Arkansas and Becky Hatchett of Clarksville, Arkansas; four sons, James Wayne Nichols and wife Teresa and Michael Nichols and wife Debbie all of Ozark, Mark Nichols and wife Ginger of Alma and Danny Nichols and wife Melissa of Mulberry, Arkansas; one sister, Pat Taff of Afton, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, December 20, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark.
Pallbearers will be Matt Walker, Brandon Nichols, Forrest Michael Skolarski, Terry Smith, Lee Bright and Les Brown
