ROGERS — Charles Ward, 84, of Rogers died Jan. 10, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born April 29, 1922, in Findlay Village, Ill., to Andy Francis and Flossie Kathryn Ellington Ward. He was an Army veteran with five Bronze Stars, serving in the Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Ardennes and Rhineland campaigns. He was owner and operator of Wards Bakery for several years and was a cook at the Harris Hotel in Rogers and Harris Bakery. He enjoyed cooking, reading and gardening. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Marie Ward.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Poe Ward, to whom he was married June 2, 1946; one son, Charles Keith Ward and Dene of Lake Butler, Fla.; one daughter, Linda Sue Davis and Michael of Fayetteville; one brother, James Kenneth Ward of Hogeye; one sister, Vivian Lawson of Rogers; four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers with Harold Callaway officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the church.
Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery near Garfield.

ROGERS — Dorothy Lillian Ward, 87, of Rogers died Sept. 2, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home. She was born March 31, 1926, in Garfield.
Funeral is Friday 11 a.m. at the Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers; viewing to follow.
Burial at Liberty Cemetery.
