Baxter Paul Ward, 77, of Maysville, Arkansas, died December 1, 2011, at his home. Born March 21, 1934, near Watts, Oklahoma, he was the son of Getty Clarence Ward, and Juanita Eunice Masters Ward. He lived most of his life in the Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma areas, where he was a dairy farmer and cowboy. Paul was a member of the Tri-State Round-Up Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his favorite horse, Ole Blue. He was called by many, “one of the last great cowboys”. He married Lotus Carter on October 24, 1956 in Paonia, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Ward, and Darrel Ward; and one daughter, Peggy Jean Ward.

Survivors include his wife Lotus of the home; two sons, James Ward of Tucson, Arizona and Wayne Ward of Maysville, Arkansas; two brothers, Delbert Ward of Jay, Oklahoma and Jarrel Ward and wife Darlene of Doddridge, Arkansas; and six grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Arkansas, with Rev. Jim Alexander officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
