GOSHEN — Vernice Anne Carpenter Tisdale, 65, of Goshen died Oct. 22, 1999, at her home.

She was born July 20, 1934, at Reynolds Mountain in Madison County to Charlie Morgan and Golda Reynolds Carpenter. She was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Goshen Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 614. She had been active in many community projects. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by one son, Bobby Tisdale.

Survivors include her husband, James Darrel Tisdale of Goshen; one son, Karl Brent Tisdale of Goshen; two grandchildren, Joshua Morgan Tisdale Brice and Amanda Allison Tisdale Brice, both of Puunene, Hawaii; two sisters, Shirley Ledbetter and husband Bob of Huntsville and Verna Bennett and husband Boyd of Hindsville; two brothers, Claud Carpenter and wife Dorothy of Fayetteville and Larry Carpenter and wife Eulena of Forum; several nieces, nephews and many friends of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Services will be at 10 a m. Monday at Goshen Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Don Eubanks and the Rev. Peter Kimball officiating.

Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Moore's.

In lieu of flowers. the family requests memorials be made to Goshen United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1, Goshen, 72735, or the Order of the Eastern Star Building Fund, P.O. Box 1, Goshen, 72735.

Pallbearers will be Bob Gipson, Dale Ezell, Doug Dobbyn, Dallas Hale, Bert Langley and Chester McElhaney.
