James Marvin Tisdale, 83, a resident of route 1, died at his home early this morning. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was a retired farmer. He was born May 8, 1880 in Goshen the son of James K. Polk and Mary Ann Thompson Tisdale. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include the widow, the former Faner Oxford to whom he was married in 1902; three daughters, Mrs. Erie Clark of Tontitown, Mrs. Merl Salsbury of Goshen and Mrs. Lorene Hash of Springdale; four sons, Oren and Thomas of Springdale, Claude of California and James of Fayetteville; three brothers, Ben and William of Fayetteville and Virgil of Goshen; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Gayer of California, Mrs. Suzie Sharp of Fayetteville and Mrs. Crete Phillips of Elkins; 20 grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Goshen Methodist Church. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery under direction of the Nelson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Faner N. Tisdale, 85, of Route 1, Fayetteville, died today in the Springdale hospital. She was born March 3, 1882 in Washington County, the daughter of John and Lavonie Gregg Oxford, and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are four sons, Claude of Whittier, Calif., Walker of Fayetteville and Oran and Harrison, both of Springdale; three daughters, Mrs. Erie Duncan of Corcoran, Calif., Mrs. Merle Salsbury of Goshen and Mrs. Lorraine Hash of Springdale; one sister, Mrs. Dora Bumgarner of Fullerton, 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Goshen Methodist Church with burial in Goshen Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
