O. C. (Jack) Evans, 61, of 1009 S. Magnolia Drive, died Monday morning in a local hospital following a long illness. He was born June 20, 1910 in Delight and was the son of Albert J. and Birdie Evans. He was an oilfield construction foreman and operated a local service station for many years. He was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Octie Evans of El Dorado; two sons, Clarence Evans of El Dorado and Maj. Jack Ray7 Evans of Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.; his mother of Norphlet; a brother, Ervin Evans of Norphlet; two sisters, Mrs. Wilford Bugg of Delight and Mrs. L. L. Mooty of Snider, Tex.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul Methodist Church with the Rev. Gladwyn Connell officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be S. O. Reynolds, Dr. J. G. Simpson, O. B. Denny. A. B. Warren, R. E. Weaver, C. H. Coster, Clint Ross and Tommy Blagg, Jr. (El Dorado Times - September 14, 1971)
