Wilma Gaye (Floyd) McCollum was born in Brockwell, Arkansas, on August 15, 1932, daughter of Grady Magnus and Minnie Novella (Sherrill) Floyd. She departed this life on January 27, 2016, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 12 days.
Gaye married Billie Ray McCollum on March 21, 1951 at Melbourne, Arkansas. She worked as a nurse for many years and was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. She was a good mother and granny.
Gaye is survived by her son, Jack McCollum of Oxford, Arkansas; three daughters, Novela Scribner (Tommy) of Salem, Arkansas, Betty Crump (Clay) of Kirby, Arkansas, and Anna Osburn (Oz) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Alice Karen McCollum; parents, Grady and Minnie Floyd; granddaughter, Sarah Crump; two brothers, James and Junior Floyd; and two sisters, Faye Wayland and Lillie Mae Sherrell.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016, 2:00 PM at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Chris Cochran, Grady Scribner, John Scribner, Casey Scribner, Lasha McCollum, Jessica Crump, BJ McCollum, Levi Osburn, Daniel Osburn, Bill E. McCollum, Laken Crump and Leland Crump. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Cancer Research.
