Margie “Inez” (McClung) Sims, 87 formerly of Conway, recently Urbana, IL., passed away peacefully at home May 10, 2012. Born in Russellville, AR. January 31, 1925, daughter of Julius McClung and Mary Etta (Dollar).

Mrs. Sims was the founder and owner of Hefner & Sims Nursery School (Ding Dong Kampus). She was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church, the Dorcas Joy Sunday School Class, Women’s Missionary Auxiliary, and sponsored the GA’s. She loved gardening, her pets and was a dedicated wife and mother who loved her family uncompromisingly. She was preceded in death by her husband, William O’Neil Sims, sisters Ruby Graham and Margaret Stewart, and brother Richard McClung.

Survived by daughters Ginny Sims and Janice Lines of Urbana, IL, sister and brother-in-law Vaudeen and Jack Carr of Ruleville, MS, sister Yvette McClung, sister-in-law, Sonnye McClung, and brother-in-law Robert Stewart of Greenbrier, AR. Also surviving are nieces Annette Stewart and Ginger McClung; nephews Jimmy, Eddie and Farrell Graham, Russell and Greg Carr, Dickie and Kim McClung.

It is said, it takes a village to raise a child and occasionally that same village needs to assist with passing from this life to the next. Mrs. Sims’ village consisted of many loving caregivers including Sharon Rawdin, Lisa Lillig, Heather Lines, Arthur Rutledge, Kuanwu Lin, Krista Reynolds, the staff at Circle of Friends Adult Day Center, McKinley Presbyterian Church, Carle Hospice, and a host of others too many to mention.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 801 8th Ave, Conway (501)327-7727. Services at 3 pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Springhill Cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist College, Harvest Gleaner Hour (Lifeword Broadcast), The Humane Society of America, Heifer Ranch or National Alzheimer’s Association.
