Jewell Helen Price Sims, 92, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, in Wynne.
She was born April 2, 1912, at Danville (Yell County), to the late Henry and Ninnie Price. At an early age, she moved with her family to Conway where she attended school. She married Lloyd H. Sims Sr., Sept. 16, 1928, in Little Rock.
Mrs. Sims was a resident of Pine Bluff most of her life, where she was a very active member of First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was deeply devoted to her family and involved with the family business - Sims Signs, a longtime member of P.T.A. and the Business and Professional Women's Organization. She was a devoted caregiver to her parents in the latter years of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, three brothers, Alvie Sidney Price, Dewey Price, Raymond Price; and a half brother, Joe W. McCall.
Mrs. Sims is survived by a daughter Judy Smith of Wynne; two sons, Jerry Sims of Bossier City, La., and Lloyd Sims Jr. of Pine Bluff; four grandsons, David Sims, Robert Sims, Aaron Sims and Todd Sims; and one great-grandson, Wilson Sims.
Visitation for Mrs. Sims will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, with graveside services to be held at 4 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery also in Conway.
