William Fay Goodwin, 64, 514 E. Miles St., died Wednesday evening at his home following a long illness. Mr. Goodwin was born in Union County, Jan. 23, 1900, and was the son of William R. and Mattie Ramsey Goodwin. He formerly operated the Goodwin Service Station and Electric Shop, and was a former employe of the El Dorado Water Co. He was a lifelong resident of Union County and El Dorado; and a member of the Bethel Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucille Dunbar Goodwin of El Dorado; one son, John William Goodwin of El Dorado; one sister, Mrs. John Rickman of Clinton, Mo.; two aunts, Mrs. Siddie Smith and Mrs. J. A. Marrable, both of El Dorado. Two nephews, H. L. Mason of El Dorado and Ed Mason of Dallas. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. Marion W. Miller officiating, assisted by the Rev. Sam Reeves of Arkadelphia. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery on Junction City Road. Active pallbearers will be Dr. Myron Shofner, Tommy Norris, Albert Abdella, J. F. Haynie, Burney Wilson and Enis Sutherland. Honorary pallbearers will include Bob Rimmer, Sam E. Bab, Harry Bryan Reeves, Judge J. G. Ragsdale, J. R. Hartsell, John Henry Pinson, Frank Hays, Dr. Joe B. Wharton, Dr. Frederick Boykin, Judge W. A. Speer, Jim Prothro, Emmett Phillips, Mayor Roy Goudy and Turner Meggs. (The El Dorado Times - September 3, 1964)
