W. Lynne Goodwin, 79, of 620 W. Main St., died unexpectedly at his home Thursday afternoon. He was a retired businessman and oil operator. A member of the First Methodist Church, he was a Second Degree Mason and a Shriner. Born May 22, 1888, in El Dorado, he was the son of Dr. William Harrison Goodwin and Orline Chandler Goodwin. He served as a first Lieutenant in World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Glovina McMath Goodwin; two daughters, Mrs. John B. Reynolds, Dallas, ex., and Mrs. Frank Spaar, New Orleans, La., one foster daughter, Mrs. Albert Leadaman, El Dorado; one brother, Shelton Goodwin, El Dorado, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church with Dr. Alvin Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary.
