THOMAS, William Virgil - William Virgil Thomas, 27 years old, died at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon in a local hospital following an illness of nearly two weeks. He was stricken ill Oct. 23 and underwent an emergency operation on Oct. 24. Funeral services were held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas, in the Stony Point community, southeast of Rogers, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. Oscar Ingold officiating. Burial was in the Rogers cemetery with J.W. Bryant in charge. Besides his parents he is survived by his widow, son and daughter; three brothers, Olin Thomas, Atchison, Kan. and Everett and Cecil Thomas at the family home, and three sisters, Mrs. A.C. Summers, Rogers, Mrs. Zola Ford, Lowell and Mrs. Juanita McKinney, Rogers.
NOTE: I uncovered this stone under a fallen footstone with VWT at the McDaniel Cemetery on Aug. 17, 2015. The above obit is the only one that fits this burial.
