Sharon “Kay” Thomas, 64 year old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, died on December 1, 2017 at her home. Born on June 15, 1953 in Rogers, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Therman Lee Cannady and Dora Jane Pike Burfiend. Kay married Harlen Wayne Thomas on February 4, 1971 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She worked as a preschool teacher at her sister’s daycare, then continued on as a caregiver for the elderly before retiring. Kay was of the Christian faith and lived out faith loving everyone in her path.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlen Wayne Thomas; and her father, Therman Lee Cannady.
She is survived by her mother, Dora Burfiend of Colcord, Oklahoma; five children, Shelly Stobaugh and husband Richard of Cleveland, Arkansas, Crystal George and husband Dan of Colcord, Oklahoma, Misty Ziebarth and husband Lesley of Colcord, Ray Thomas and wife Kelsey of Ketchum, Oklahoma, and Wayne Thomas and wife Karen of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; four sisters, Shirley Boyd of Rogers, Arkansas, Brenda Clark of Colcord, Oklahoma, Nancy Torres of Plano, Texas, and Mary Martinez of Springdale, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Wayne Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery, Rogers, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
