Dempsey E. Sims, 79, of Jacksonport died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008.
Born May 5, 1929, he was the son of Baxter and Grace Matthews Sims.
Survivors include a brother, Dale Sims of Newport; a sister, Dovie Price of Beebe; and several nephews and nieces, including Robbie Sims, Debbie Sims, Cody Sims, Bonnie Holcombe, Rick Sims, Robert Stansberry, Autumn Sims and Sissy Clark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Sims; and his parents.
Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. today at Reeves Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were by Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.
