PRAIRIE GROVE - Albert Lee Stewart, 75, of Prairie Grove, formerly of West Fork, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born June 8, 1926, the son of Alice Sherwood and Arvel Stewart, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He lived in Northwest Arkansas until the mid-1950s, moving back to Cedar Rapids. He retired there from Wilson Packing Co. and moved to West Fork. He worked for Superior Industries until his death. He was an Army veteran of World War II and then joined the Navy following his service in the Army. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred L. Stewart; his daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Neil Smith of Fayetteville; his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Susie Stewart of Farmington; his granddaughters, Angie Kichline, Schara Skelton and Misty Morrow; his grandson, Dustin Stewart; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Pat Hildebrand and Norma Berry, both of Cedar Rapids; his brothers, William Stewart and Richard Stewart, both of Cedar Rapids; one stepsister, Iona McClenahan of Ocean Shores, Wash.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Cremation will be handled by Moore's. Memorials may be to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, 1640 Armstrong, Fayetteville, 72701.
