Siloam Springs — Bert Stewart, 83, of Inola, Okla., and former resident of the White Oak community, died Wednesday in a Locust Grove, Okla., convalescent home. A native of Washington County, born April 24, 1883, he was a retired farmer and had lived in Oklahoma for the past five years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Strang, Okla.

He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Treacy Stewart, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Ward of Inola; two grandchildren and one brother, Arch, of Strang.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam springs.

Mrs. Treacy Jane Stewart, 89, Rt. 2, Inola, Okla., died Aug. 5 in a Claremore, Okla., nursing home. Born Jan. 5, 1887, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Joe and Margaret Luttrell Phipps and a member of the Baptist Church. She formerly resided in the Chamber Springs community near Wedington and lived in Strang, Okla. before moving to Inola 15 years ago.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edith Ward, Inola, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Mamie Hayes, Savoy; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. in Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with the Rev. Leon Gregory officiating. Burial was in Bell Cemetery under the direction of Wasson.
