U.S. Veteran
Smithville- Charles L. Harris, 79 died Wednesday January 15, 2014 at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born March 6, 1934 in Saffell to John Cecil and Nola Gray Harris. He was a lifetime resident of Lawrence County and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a row crop farmer and a dozer operator having owned his own business. He was a member of the Lynn Church of Christ.
He was preceded by his parents; brother, James Henry Harris; sister, Ruby Beauthon Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Hugg Harris of the home; son, Anthony Lee Harris (Rhonda) of Smithville; daughters, Tena Charlene Wright of Batesville, Kimberly Ann Sexton of Little Rock and Carla Sue Ladd of Cave City; brother, Billy Harris (Kay) of Saffell; 9 grandchildren, Cody Lee Harris (Tamara), Allie Kay Evans (Trey), Austin Wilson Harris, Brittany LeeAnn Johnston (Taylor), Spencer Lee Wright (Ashley), Corey Nathaniel Wright (Sarah), Tyler Scott Wright, Kolton Lee Moore and Kolby Rhae Moore; 6 great-grandchildren, Zane Evan Harris, Hunter Chase Wright, Gunner Bo Wright, Jagger Lee Johnston, Joseph Thatcher Wright and Sophia Leeann Wright.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Lynn Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Lynn Church of Christ with Kenny Townsley officiating under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge. Burial will follow at the Penn Cemetery in Strawberry.
Pallbearers: Spencer Wright, Corey Wright, Tyler Wright, Cody Harris, Kolton Moore and Austin Harris.
