March 25, 1903 - January 2, 1964
Mrs. Mable Sloan Jones, aged 60, of New Orleans, formerly of Harrell, died Thursday, January 2, 1964 at New Orleans. She was born in Pine Bluff on March 25, 1903, the daughter of George H. and Julia Sloan. She was the widow of the late William D. Jones. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Salvadore Lachute of New Orleans; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Sloan of Harrell; a brother, Henry Sloan of New Orleans; three sisters, Mrs. Jolly Johnson of New Orleans, Mrs. Nellie Estave of Slidell, La., and Mrs. Lottie Braund of Salem, Ohio; four grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at Union Grove Assembly of God Church by Rev. Wiley Wagnon of Blue Springs. Burial was at Union Grove Cem. by Frazer Funeral Home of Warren. Pallbearers were Orion Williams, Mett Williams, Robert Mulligan, Frank Mulligan, L. T. Madera and Ralph Turner. (Calhoun Herald - January 9, 1964)
