Virgil the son of Joe Napoleon Brown and Lorine Callie Hanshaw Brown Dunn. Carylon Sue (Hoffman) Brown the daughter of Carl Hoffman and Beatrice (Taylor) Hoffman.

Virgil Wayne Brown, 65, of Black Rock, entered into eternal peace on Sept. 21, 2014.
Born May 16, 1949, at Lauratown, he was the son of the late Joe Neoapolen and Lorine Hanshaw Brown.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly D. Brown and Cassandra E. Brown; two brothers, Bobby Brown and Darrell Brown; a sister, Patsy Nunnally; his stepfather, Conard Dunn; his mother-in-law, Beatrice Hoffman; and his father-in-law, Carl Hoffman
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carylon Hoffman Brown; a daughter, Melissa JoAnn Hancock and Chris Layton; two brothers, Laymon Eugene "Bud" Collins and Albert Bruce "Buzz" Brown; a sister, Gloria Jean Smith and husband James; two grandchildren, Xander Layton and Paxton Layton; Uncle Bob and Aunt Shirley Hanshaw; special family friends, Robin and Brad, Halie, Savanah, Rani Stacy and Jessica Beasley and Andrew, Jonas Garthwaite; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 3:30 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Bro. Eugene Gregory officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason Lamb, Aaron Hoffman, Wayne Hoffman, P.J. Mashburn, Joe Wilfond and Jason Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Russell, James Hoffman, John Phillips, Joe Hoffman, Jim King and Donald Hoffman.

Carylon Sue Brown, 65, of Black Rock passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her home.
She was born February 13, 1952 in Walnut Ridge to Carl and Beatrice Taylor Hoffman. She was a retired truck driver and of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Wayne Brown; two daughters, Kimberly and Cassandra Brown; and two brothers, Stanley and Jerry Hoffman.
She is survived by one daughter, Melissa (Chris) Layton of Black Rock; two grandchildren, Xander and Paxton Layton of Black Rock; four siblings, James (Kathy) Hoffman of Jonesboro, Richard (Alice) Hoffman of Black Rock, Judy Mashburn of Black Rock, and Donald (Misty) Hoffman of Walnut Ridge; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 12 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will be in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Lynn.
Visitation will be Friday, August 11 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at McNabb Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include: Joey, Aaron, Eric, Jason, Wayne, and John Hoffman.
Honorary pallbearers include: Tristan, Gavin, and Jerry Hoffman, and PJ Mashburn.
