Vela Fern (Robertson) Brown the wife of Cecil Brown. Daughter of Thomas Mose Robertson and Vertie (Stanton) Robertson.


Vela Fern, 96, of Lakeside, Arizona, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at he home. She was born at Black Rock on January 23, 1912, to Thomas Mose and Vertie (Stanton) Robertson. Due to the passing away of her mother when she was quite young, she was raised by her father and stepmother Edith Beeler Robertson.

She married Cecil Brown on June 22, 1941 at St Louis, Mo. and they made their home at Louisville, Ill, for many years prior to moving to Arizona, She was a member of Reorganized LDS Church.

Her husband, her parents, her stepmother, one son, Wayne Moore, and seven brothers, T J, Doris, Vernon, Virgil, Shelby, Sherman and Lavelle Robertson preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kellums of Goodyear, Arizona and Ann Ferganchicle of Tucson, Arizona, one son, Robert W Brown of Apache Junction, Arizona, five sisters, Maudie Rogers, Bettie Oldham and Dora McAlister of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Evelyn Flippo of Powhatan Arkansas and Betty Jean McCarty of Lima, Ohio and one brother, Bernard Robertson of Kirkland, Illinois.

No formal services were held, the body was cremated.
