Loy Charles Smith, 54, of Huntsville died Friday, July 27, in a Fayetteville hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1919 at Pettigrew, the son of William C. and Phibie Silvas Smith. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lucy Mae Bohannan Smith of the home, a son Larry of Fayetteville, his parents of Pettigrew; three brothers, Johnnie of Springdale and Roy and Wayne of Fayetteville, a sister, Mrs. Lora Roland of Fresno, CA and one grandchild. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 30, the Bruce Brashears memorial Chapel with the Reverend Harrison Collins officiating. Pallbearers were Ben Collins, Odie Fowler, Otto Bennett, Jean Johnson, Foy K. Johnson and Arlie Silvis.
