Arval Loy Smith, 73, of Marble died Jan. 19, 1995, at his home. He was horn April 28, 1921, at Marble to Walter Summer and Dora Ellen Hargis Smiih. He was a logger and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by one son, Troy Dean Smith on Dec. 31, 1951; one sister, Ida Faye McDaniel on May 17, 1994; his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Owens Smith of the home; five sons, Loy Smith of Berryville, Lonnie Smith of Huntsville, Martie (Casey) Smith of Farmington, Boyd Smith of Tontitown, and Loyd Smith of Marble; four daughters, Pearl Vasquez of Marble, Wilma Reynolds of Kingston, Glenda Willis of Fayetteville, Mary Morin of Huntsville; two stepsons, Steven Ross of Osage and
Jody Ross of Green Forest; five stepdaughters, Earleen Vance of Louisville, Ky., Diana Ross and Ina Butler, both of Osage, Mary Binam of Marble and Linda Santella of Berryville; two brothers, Coy Smith and Donald Smith, both of Marble; five sisters, Irene Carter and Oneida Shaffer, both of Springdale, Bessie Middleton of Huntsville, Lillian Binam of Marble and Mary Rowlins of Forum; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Marble United Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Reynolds and the Rev. Jerry Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in Lower Campground Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Pallbearers will be Pete Morin, Gilbert Morin and Troy Morin, Dwayne Smith, Tony Vasquez, Kevin Smith and Larry Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Smith, Dorsey Smith, James Reynolds, Lee Morin, Joe Willis and Ralph Vasquez.
