SPRINGDALE — Bill Wilson, 71, of Springdale died May 3, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Saranac, N.Y., to Hubert Guy and Edith Miner Wilson. He served more than 19 years in the Navy and was tired from Springdale Water Co. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church. His wife, Maudie Wilson, preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 1999.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Turner of Fayetteville; one daughter, Lavone Philpps of Springdale; one brother, Van Wilson of Rockhill, S.C.; two sisters, Alma Scutt and Marguerite Darling, both of Cortland, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Jack Anglin officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at 1107 White Road in Springdale.
