REYNOLDS, Minerva ARMS - Mrs. W.W. Reynolds died at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.H. Ashworth, corner of Elm and Fourth Streets. Although she had been very low for several weeks her death was sudden and unexpected. Yesterday morning she had been quite cheerful and was able to talk and seemed much better. While the family were at dinner she called "Sadie," but was unable to speak when her daughter reached her side and passed away peacefully in a few minutes. Mrs. Reynolds had been an invalid for over two years and for the past three months had been confined to her room. She was afflicted with a complication of heart and stomach trouble and suffered much during her long illness. Funeral services are being held at the residence this afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Nelson of the M.E. church. Mrs. Reynolds was one of the oldest and best known women of Rogers and no citizen of the town has ever been held in higher esteem by friends and acquaintances. She came here with her family from Uniontown, Kansas twenty years ago and they at once became important factors in the social and business life of the growing village. Mrs. Reynolds was a woman with that cheerful and friendly disposition that makes friends of everyone. She also had a keen business instinct and owned a number of excellent residence properties. By her death Rogers loses one of its most estimable women. Minerva Arms was born April 4, 1838 in Pennsylvania. She spent most of her girlhood days in Wisconsin and was married in that state to W.W. Reynolds May 2, 1856, who died in Rogers in December of 1892. To them were born six children, three of whom are still living: Mrs. J.H. Ashworth of Rogers; Ed F. Reynolds of Joplin, Mo. and Arthur Reynolds of Uniontown, Kansas. She was a member of the German Baptist church for nearly forty years and while she had no affiliation with any of the local churches was always keenly interested in their work and welfare. The Democrat joins with the many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives. She had long been a personal friend of the Democrat editors and in her death they feel a personal loss.
