Funeral services for Onzie Thomas, 51, of Rt. 2 who was shot Friday morning in Caledonia, were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Caledonia Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Shirey and Rev. M. H. McManus officiating. Burial followed in the Caledonia Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Mr. Thomas, who was reportedly killed by his half-brother, Henry Andrews of El Dorado about 11 a.m. Friday, was born Sept. 1, 1913 in Caledonia and was the son of I. D. and Sarah Fautheree Thomas. He was a member of the Caledonia Baptist Church and a ranch overseer and welder. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. Survivors include two half-brothers, Andrews and Lee Thomas of Winnfield, La., and one half-sister, Mrs. Fred Pepper of El Dorado. Pallbearers were J. B. Enis, Rilley Pepper, Perry Peace, J. T. Peace, M. L. Perdue and Elton Pepper. (The El Dorado Times - February 22, 1965)
