Christopher Paul THOMAS

Lott Burgy (African American) Cemetery
Union County,
Arkansas

August 27, 1965 - August 12, 2021

Brother Christopher Paul Thomas was born August 27, 1965, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to the late Alvin James “A.J.” Hall and Vera Mae Thomas.

Paul accepted the Lord at a young age, under the leadership of his grandfather, Reverend J.I. Thomas, while attending Douglas Chapel Baptist Church. He later united with the Morning Star Baptist Church Family, under the leadership of Reverend Felton Burgie, where he remained a faithful member until he was called into the comforting arm of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He loved the Lord and was not ashamed to share his faith.

Paul attended El Dorado School District and received his degree from Oil Belt Vocational Center. He was currently employed at South Arkansas Community College, where he was also in the process of obtaining yet another degree in Criminal Justice. As a person who thrived for knowledge, he earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science and numerous certifications.

Paul was a very loving and kind person who was known to give more than what he had. He celebrated life at every given opportunity. He had a knack for making people feel welcome, and if you didn’t get that feeling, he would turn the music up, and it was up, up, up from there. Speaking of music, he indulged in various genres; however, he was stuck on anything that Aretha Franklin composed, from her soulful “R.E.S.P.E.C.T.” to her world-renowned, “Amazing Grace.” For Paul, music was his happy place!

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, three brothers, Harvey McHenry Thomas, Alvin Keith Thomas, and Orland Hall.

Paul is survived by five brothers, Albert J. Moore of Minden, Louisiana, Alvin James (JoAnne) Hall of Plymouth, Minnesota, Demetrius Hall of Ft. Worth, Texas, Scottie O. Hall and Tracy Hall, both of El Dorado, Arkansas; four sisters, Marsha Grimes, Pam Hall, and Vada (Brian) Smith all three of El Dorado, Arkansas and Cassandra (Jerry) Ross of Dallas, Texas; step-mother, Betty Hall of El Dorado, Arkansas, one uncle, T.J. Hall, and one aunt, Bessie Moore both of El Dorado, Arkansas; two special friends, Deborah Moore and Toni Crutchfield; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss his sense of humor and great smile.
