Daniel Wilson age 76 of Cave City died Friday January 4, 2013 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born June 1, 1936 at Williams, Oklahoma to Ivan and Samantha Bartholomew Wilson. He was a retired plumber, had served as mayor of Cave City for 2 years and had also served the City of Cave City in various capacities for over 53 years. He was a member of the New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church at Sage.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Rosemary Fletcher Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith Wilson of the home; one son, Kenny Wilson of Cave City; two daughters, Susie McClure of Newark and Rhonda Bradley of Cave City; one stepson, Bryan Keith Waltrip of Round Rock, Texas; six grandchildren, Travis Bradley, Cassie Bradley, Justin Wilson and Kerrie Wilson all of Cave City, Derek McClure and Marcus McClure both of Newark; two step-grandchildren, Shannon Head of Hewitt, Texas and Heather Brown of Ashville, North Carolina; two step great grandchildren, Dillon Head and Camryn Head both of Hewitt, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will begin Tuesday January 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the New Bethel Free Will Baptist Church located at Sage with Rev. Wayne Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Yeager Cemetery located at Needmore with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will begin Monday January 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Travis Bradley, Justin Wilson, Alton Stewart, Curt Coles, Donald Milligan and John Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers are Derek McClure, Marcus McClure, Gerald Gaither, Norman Sensabaugh, Jimmie Morgan and Vaughn Ruminer
