Mrs. Ruby Jewel “Mon” Robinson, 63 of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Hamburg, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was a native of Hamburg, a resident of Little Rock, a retired food service worker for the Little Rock School District and was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershell Robinson, two grandchildren: Romell Martin and Trinity Green, her parents: Charlie and Hattie Mae Bunton Brown, two brothers: Larry “Terry” Brown and Dan Brown and one sister, Versie Mae Colbert. Ruby loved God and her family. She had a passion for cooking, doing word puzzles and watching “Wheel of Fortune”.
She is survived by one son, Maurice Robinson, wife Kesha of Albany, NY, six daughters: Carol Smittie of Irving, TX, Mary Giles, husband Joseph of Little Rock, AR, Angela Robinson of Irving, TX, Roberta Martin and Sari Robinson of North Little Rock, AR, and Tashia Green, husband Ketrica of Killeen, TX, two brothers: Charles Brown, wife Sula of Magnolia, AR and Ronnie Brown of North Little Rock, AR, three sisters: Katie Bell of North Little Rock, AR, Shellia Ann Lawson, husband Charles and Sandra Faye Bedford all of Crossett, AR, twenty-six grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren, and a host of other family, loved ones and friends.
Funeral services are Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burns & Pastor W.R. Taylor, officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 6-7:00 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Eric Brown, Marcus Brown, Mitchell Brown, Steve Brown, Y. T. Singleton and Leon “Hack” Woodberry. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Jones, Charles Lawson, Willie Shaw and Harold Smittie. Burial in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
