Arville Lee Skaggs, 85, of Rogers, died Monday at Rogers Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1896, in the Prairie Creek area. He was a member of Avoca Christian Church and was a retired guard for Armoco Steel Co., Kansas City, Mo.
He is survived by a son, Clifford Lee Skaggs, Owasso, Okla.; a daughter, Ada Bell Jones, Rogers; two brothers, Asa Skaggs, Stillwater, Okla., Adrian Skaggs, Pea Ridge; two sisters, Alta Lyons, Seligman, Mo., Ethel Long, Rogers; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. in Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel with burial in Buttram’s Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. John Lawson and the Rev. Ben Rowell officiating.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund or the American Heart Association.
