BENTONVILLE — Steven "Steve" Mitchell Skaggs, 57, of Bentonville died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born July 19, 1963, in Little Rock, the son of Thelma Baggett and Robert Skaggs.
He was an expert on 1970s and 1980s classic rock music. He collected old coins and currency. His main focus was his devotion to his family and his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Bentonville Community Church of the Nazarene, where he served in multiple capacities including serving on the Church Board and Life Group Leader.
He was employed with Nile Supplier Services, and spent 28 years with Walmart Inc, serving as a replenishment manager.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Homer and Hazel Skaggs; maternal grandparents Lonas and Edna Baggett; and father-in-law Fred Sabelfeldt.
Steve is survived by wife Sharon Skaggs, whom he married Aug. 1, 1992; sons Cameron Mitchell Skaggs of Bentonville and Bryan Fredrick Skaggs of Bentonville; parents Thelma and Robert Skaggs of Bentonville; mother-in-law Barbara Sabelfeldt of Bentonville; brother Stan Skaggs and wife Fatima of Russellville; sister Stacee Freeman and husband Neil of Bentonville; numerous aunts and uncles, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, June 28, 2021, from 9-11 a.m. at Bentonville Community Church of the Nazarene.
A celebration of Steve's life will be Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bentonville Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mark Snodgrass officiating. Interment will follow at Bentonville Cemetery.
