Letha Isabella (Sharp) Evans, 102, of Conway, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Salem Place Nursing and Rehab. She was born August 2, 1906, in Floral, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Butler Alex and Alberta Ann "Bertie" (Shook) Sharp. Her husband, Willie Floyd Evans, and a son, Roland Evans, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker, and for many years had written an article covering the Brannon Community for the Log Cabin Democrat. She was of the Methodist faith and a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors are her children, Bonnie Walters and husband O. C. of Conway; Connie Baker of Guy; Gene C. Evans and wife Joan of Poplar Grove, Illinois; Jimmie R. Evans and wife June of Alexandria, Louisiana; Majel W. Evans of Little Rock; Janis M. Wilson of Conway; a daughter-in-law, Laura Evans of Quitman; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; ten great great-grandchildren; and a niece, Marsha Sharp of Pangburn, Arkansas.
Funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Greenbrier, with Bros. Sonny Harvison and Don Chandler officiating.
