Miss Eva Pearl Osborn died a little after noon Monday at the Home Hospital in this city following a very brief illness with peritonitis and complications. She had only been ill since the preceding Wednesday but her condition was considered serious from the very first with but slight chance for recovery since Thursday. Her mother, Mrs. Zella Osborn, was at Smackover, Ark. where she had been called by the illness of a grandchild and arrived home Saturday morning. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Ben H. Moore. The office building of the Mutual Aid Union where Miss Osborn had worked for some eight or nine years, was closed for the afternoon and the entire force attended in a body as she was one of the most popular and best loved members of that organization. She was a teacher in the Presbyterian Sunday School, having a class of young girls for a number of years, and was one of the most faithful and devoted members of that church, rarely missing a service. Sunday morning the church service was devoted to a season of prayer for the recovery of Miss Osborn. The large number present at the funeral and the many beautiful flowers were an eloquent testimony of the love and esteem in which this charming young woman was held by her friends and associates. Miss Osborn was born at Pittsburg, Kansas September 4, 1899, being 27 years, three months and two days old at the time of her death. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Zella Osborn of Rogers; her father, E.H. Osborn of Pittsburg, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Vivian White of Rogers and a brother, Bennie Osborn of Smackover, Ark.
