September 5, 1873 - April 12, 1952
Edward (Ed.)Carter, 79 years old, died at 10:55 p.m., Saturday night, April 12, 1952 at the Van Buren, Arkansas hospital after a long illness. He was a former resident of the Dora community, but more recently had been living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Edwards Funeral home chapel. Burial was in the Dora cemetery. Rev. Elmer Matlock officiated.
Survivors are six daughters; Mrs. Carl Phillips of Van Buren, Mrs. G. Elmer Cook of Fort Smith, Mrs. Harold Johnson of Mansfield, Arkansas; Mrs. Raymond Phillips of Collinsville, Oklahoma; Mrs. Effie Sagely of Chow Chilla, California; and Mrs. Reba Phillips of Chow Chilla; three sons, Mark Carter of Fort Smith, Roy L. Carter of Sacramento, California; and Fred Carter of Coulton, California; two brothers, H. M. Carter of Sapulpa and Walter Carter of Los Angeles; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
