Mrs. O'Dessa (Reed) Carter, 83, died Sunday (June 5, 1983) at her home in Van Buren, Ark.
She was born on March 13, 1900 at Alrich, Mo. and came to Arkansas City with her parents as a young woman.
She married Eddward Carter on March 28, 1921, and he preceded her in death in October, 1969.
Carter was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Van Buren.
Survivors include: five daughters, Mrs. Ada Mae Futral, Houston, Texas, Mrs. Iona Fay Smith, Mrs. Hazel Neal and Mrs. Marjene Bules, all of Van Buren, Ark., Mrs. Anna Belle Johnson, Chula Vista, Calif., several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Lula Brewster, Topeka, Ks., and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reed, a brother, Bill Reed and a sister, Mrs. Effie Masters.
